A Curriculum Publisher in Khon Kaen
Printed workbooks and a digital twin, taught by local tutors or in schools
Contact Us
Reading Advantage (Thailand) is a curriculum publisher based in Khon Kaen. We make printed workbooks and a digital twin, tagged to the Mastery Advantage knowledge graph. We were founded in January 2024 by Phikul Phookathin and Daniel Bo. We are a team of five and we are self-funded.
Our Story
We began with extensive reading research, including the controlled study by Aka (2019). The study found that extensive reading outperformed grammar instruction on reading test scores.
We started as a reading platform. We are now a curriculum publisher. Each workbook has 14 lessons and a digital twin, and the same books reach students through Tutor Advantage and Blended Learning.
Our Mission
To give Thai students well-made English books and practice, taught by local tutors or in schools, with honest reporting on what we do.

Accessibility

Academic Research Foundation
Our methods build on extensive-reading research. Research shows extensive reading outperforms traditional grammar instruction (Aka, 2019). We report results per school because results vary by implementation quality and reading volume.
The Big 4 Quality Protocol
Four classroom practices that guide how teachers and tutors use our books.
Uninterrupted Reading
Consistent extensive reading sessions without interruptions
Student Agency
Students choose articles that match their interests, driving intrinsic motivation
Data-Driven Consensus
Regular progress reviews based on comprehensive data from student performance
Workbook-First Protocol
The printed workbook gives the lesson its structure, and the app supports it
Our Approach
We sell the same printed books through two channels. Tutor Advantage is for families: a local tutor teaches one class package, which covers one workbook. Blended Learning is for schools: workbooks, the app, and teacher training. Our focus through May 2027 is Tutor Advantage.
